Quite a scathing article...

So far, so Sex and the City, but the picture gets a little less alluring when the holiday location is revealed as Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. There has been remarkably little controversy over this choice of setting, despite the country's appalling record on women's rights and human rights in general.

In contrast to the image it attempts to project globally, the UAE is a country where human rights are systematically violated and where women are routinely discriminated against.

Why refer to Abu Dhabi at all since it was filmed in Morroco!!! Seems like Abu Dhabi is happy to take the publicity even though they would not allow the filming in UAE- double standards again.....

So the article is actually nothing to do with SATC, but an attack on AD/UAE. So why not write about the issues, rather than attaching it to a fluffy film that wasn't filmed here anyway? As if a bunch of New Yorkers would choose AD as a holiday destination. 95% wouldn't have heard of the place.

Sadly, much of what he writes is true. And what happend to Sharla, who ran the refuge, was appalling.

Abu Dhabi seems like the perfect setting for the movie!

I don't know what anybody sees in Sarah Parker Jessica. It looks to me like her face got caught in some elevator doors. I think her face measures 75 millimeters from ear to ear. Positively ghastly!
