seeking English lawyer

Hey, I'm hoping to get some advice - I need to find a lawyer who specialises in debt. Ideally an English lawyer who has an office in Abu Dhabi and knows the law in both countries. Can anyone help?

I don't think she's English, not even Welsh, Scots or Norn Iron, not a Brit, possibly an Ozzie. She has failed the criteria.

what sort of debt?

a project finance lawyer for the details on offshore arbitration
or,
oh shit, I'm about to skip on some debt and need to know if I can go in the clink in the UK?

Many fit the first criteria, on the second... you'll be alright. Dump the car at the airport and never answer the phone in the UK.

English lawyer means someone who practices or advises on English law, not a lawyer who is English.

English law includes Welsh law (but not Scots or Norn Iron).

As Millhouse says, corporate debt is different from personal debt, so the OP needs to be more specific.

Those are the criteria.

Ultimate pedant.

Thanks, it's the second option I'm afraid. Not my proudest moment. .

Thanks for clarifying, hurray for pedantry. It's a personal loan default from a UAE bank. Abu Dhabi, not Dubai though.

It's ok. Liberty over finances everytime - I'd do the same if push came to shove.

There is no official jurisdiction - but sadly there has been (I recall) some case law been set where someone was successfully chased in the UK... which is just nuts as you signed a UAE-law document that is not enforceable in the UK.
