Security Risk

We were due to play football afterwork yesterday at The Officers Club in AD, that is until they rang my colleague to say they have had to cancel it as it was deemed a security risk !

I think this really is taking things a bit far !

My hockey club has had its practices at the school in Arabian Ranches for the same reason. They are not letting outside parties use their facilities because of the security warning.

A small unofficial after work game is hardly a good high profile target for terrorists...you'd think they'd go after something a bit more challenging!

I suppose we just have crap terrorists here in the UAE - tired from the heat and numerous friday brunches...

I guess The Officers Club must be something to do with the military here so no surprise they would clamp down on who is allowed in.

I cant believe given the heightened security alert that has been thrust upon us, you would even consider leaving your bomb proof bunker and venture out in public. Let alone play a game of football..

Madness.

Apparently they were dressed in a Tux and ordered drinks at the bar, giving specific orders for the drinks to be Shaikh'n and not stirred.

It's always "drunk" people when the GN reports something, do they think people have to be drunk to commit crime?? Knobs.
