SecondLife

Have any of you web-mongers here used it?

What do you think of the future of web-based social interaction?

www.secondlife.com

Your avatar exists in a "virtual world" wear you walk, talk, meet, dance with, drink with, go shopping with other avatars...

like a cross between playing a video game & a web forum.

{this is related to a project i'm working on - it's a serious question}

Nah, once you find a few clubs & stuff that you like, you join up and get on mailing lists for events etc, start meeting the same people again & again.

I know people who have "second spouses" in second life, others have been married & gotten divorced & had to split their virtual assets... very wierd. At least you can't have virtual kids...

Too true - I used it for about a week almost a year ago & found it took up a lot of time.

I'm interested in what the "25+" age group think about it because a company I'm working with has just signed a deal with Linden Labs (the people that designed & run 2nd life)
