A second child dies in hot car

I think the link was overlooked in the other thread, so see here.

A second child has died from being left in a hot car. In these temperature especially, just how hard is it really to do a simple head count?

It is especially hard to bear when it has been in the news so much recently, so you'd think people would be more aware.

If I can remember to take my mobile and cigarettes out a car every time I stop, how hard can it be to remember a child??!!

I find it staggering you can forget.

There seems to be an inherent lack of parental responsibility here. Child dies whilst playing in the road - bus driver's fault. Child dies from falling out of window - Municipality's fault for not educating parents about the dangers of open windows.

You'd think that certain dangers would be blindingly obvious?

Common sense is really not common around these parts.

Its negligence. The RSPCA sue people in the UK for leaving dogs in cars, I would dread to think what the authorities would do if this happened at home.

True.

It's amazing how many people from region have lectured me on how they are 'family people' but seem to care a lot less about their children than us kaffir infidel types.

It depends.

You know that blood money for accidental death is different here depending on the nationality of the demised?

I hate people intentionally leaving their kids or animals in the car but accidents do happen, here's my little gem from a few years ago.

Good post Kim. I can completly see how it can happen. It's sad.

A bit like the guy reversing off his drive who ran his kid over. Tragic. I always reverse on for this reason... I wonder how many posters on this thread do too.
