A company has launched a range of fragrances to remind you of the cities you have visted, including ones for both Dubai and Abu Dhabi. A mere 40 Euros bottles the scent of a city for you (see E-shop on page for all cities)

On hot nights and when the wind was blowing in the right direction, if you walked past empty lots in Jumeira or Umm Sq. you caught the distinctive odour of kitty litter boxes. |

Oud is a resinous wood, used to make perfumes. It can also be burned, but the small rocks referred to by someone earlier were probably Frankinsense. That is largely harvested in Oman and burned to fragrance buildings.
