Well it's never killed me yet!
And you must agree the Chinese do know a bit about pig.

Check out the Wicks Manor range that are stocked in Spinney's. Frequently reduced (I have a pack of 6 sausages in the freezer that were reduced to just Dhs 21) and they are at least as good as the PnS ones.
I think the PnS range is good and not expensive for the work that goes into them and the quality, but then I think decent meat should be expensive.
BTW - my top tip for today is to check out the pork section at the Organic Supermarket, now in the SZR megastore. Unlike most things in there, their pork is very well priced and actually often cheaper than the main supermarkets. Your're welcome.

BIG. Much like the Dubai Mall store that closed and most things are silly prices, but where else does one go to get good quinoa?

Not sure what language you are speaking but please tell me where exactly in Dragonmart the butchers are located. Been umpteen times but never seen one, only in nearby International City. As for BC paying Dhs45 for 8 sausages, has she not tried Farmers Choice from Spinneys/Waitrose at Dhs13-14 for a pack and Kenyan pork loin fillet also goes cheap there, delicious.

Meow I am not 100% sure but I shall ask when I am next at Organic place but I don't think their pork is 100% organic it is hormone free though (well it used to be)

I regularly buy Farmers Choice bacon, their sausages however do not cut the mark, they have just introduced ham into their range as well but I have no issues buying the fresh ham which I think is reasonably priced here at all outlets.

It's good quality and a good price. As I said, equivalent to supermarkets.

Re: Sausages
Wife`s brother has a farm in China, and as you say fresh produce and quality free range pork, last time I was there I even had fresh lamb (and by fresh I mean just slaughtered), do not like the homemade rice wine though, an acquired taste, stick to the local beer!!

Re: Sausages
I managed to avoid the Pork McPorridge in Maccy D's Bangkok when passing for a late night burger. (Before anyone moans that I had a McDonalds in Bangkok; I don't care, I was pissed, hungry and walking back to the hotel. It's fine).
In Choithrams by Safa the pork section has a discount corner where bacon / ham / saussies etc are nearing sell by date - cheap as chips and perfect for freezing. Please all hold fire until tomorrow afternoon when she's done a food shop though, I'd hate to miss out.

I am always on the lookout for the reduced pork, Waitrose in the Marina is good for that as well
