Saudis hold Israel 'spy vulture'

"Saudi Arabian officials have "detained" a vulture on accusations of being a spy for Israel, media reports say.
The griffon vulture was carrying a GPS transmitter bearing the name of Tel Aviv University, prompting rumours it was part of a Zionist plot"
"When locals discovered the GPS transmitter, they suspected the worst and handed it over to the security forces, said Israel's Ma'ariv newspaper.
Conspiracy theories quickly began circulating in Saudi newspapers and on websites that the bird was involved in espionage"
looks like 2011 will be as sane as 2010 in the region then

Of course a bird with a GPS from a University would never be part of a bird migration study...ahem.

Glad to see the 'monkey hanging' gene has resurfaced somewhere in the world. Now did the monkey hangers slip it into the saudis or the saudis into the monkey hangers

Peace would mean admission of things like there being no such people as the Palestinians before 1967, and that said people were refugees from a war the Arabs started and refused to take in....that 20 thousand square kilometers of Israel is just too important to the 200million square kilometers of the Arab world...

Yeah, coz the Israelis, starved of technology and know-how as they are, would love to get their hands on the groundbreaking, death-defying, ass-kicking Saudi secret research in the field of....
.. too many fields to mention.

You'd think being the only nuclear armed state in the middle east, the most technologically advanced and certainly the most capable and disciplined that the Israelis would find better ways to annoy their neighbours than sending sharks to disrupt the Egyptian tourism industry.
