Well, in the west he would have probably been found crazy and sent to a nice clinic of observation. So in fact one can argue that he was more severely punished that he would have been in the so called civilised societies. Look at Breivik for example, having killed dozens of people he is allowed to complain that he guards aren't switching his telly on fast enough. In KSA this guy would have been on the chop chop square as matter of weeks. So what do you make of that?

He paid compensation, and serves a sentence for a lighter crime I read. But doesn't this take us back to our history? When the rich could walk into a church and confess to their crimes and pay a 'fine' into the church coffers, act contrite, say a few Hail Mary's and be absolved of his/her sins? We have a dark past too in this area.

Western complicity in empowering the most extreme Muslims (which hurts the Muslims who are non-Jihad and reform minded) has to be as digusting as a lot of the acts these people get up to.

We do it at home and abroad - supporting nutters, terrorists and people who want to see our way of life destroyed.
