Is the walkway separated from the Landcruisers by concrete bollards, tank traps, a moat and razor wire? If so it might just about be okay.

I take it most people here are not too happy with the general driving ability in Dubai. Surely the Landcruiser owners keep their vehicles on the road most of the time... It looks like most people here wouldn't dare venture along the roadways in skates.

Do you not often see people skating around? Is it banned or something? (I think Singapore banned in line skates, iirc.)

Isn't it just that it's become less fashionable again? I mean it took years for the skating world to recover from inexorable naffness of Gloria Gaynor and the whole roller-boogie thing, but then with in-line skates you got neo-yuppies in NYC skating to work but it's more nineties than noughties, n'est ce pas?

The thing nowadays is Kangoo jump boots, I believe. They have them in MoE.
