The Scottish St Andrew’s Society of Abu Dhabi is also launching a new website soon and have a lot of activities planned this year. I'll post the link when it is live, for any other Abu Dhabi Scots that are interested.

Anyone else going to the AD Burns supper on Thursday?

Yep! My DH is scottish so his outfit is sorted, but what to wear? It's going to be ffff-freezing and there will be a timelag before the drams kick in with some inner heating. Is it a ball dress effort?

Well, you will simply have to have a dram well ahead of getting there ...

Posh frocks/cocktail dresses will be worn, but not by me... I am wearing slinky trs/top and silk jacket. I also understand there will be a number of outdoor heaters.

Auld lang syne...
Can touch the heart of even a Chinese/Irish Scouser; at the right time of the year.
I once heard a comedic? F’wit denigrating (sorry, can’t do the accent) ‘The best laid plans of mice and men oft go astray’ ‘cause he couldn’t understand it. “How can mice have plans” was his stupid plaint.
