That doesn't sound bad . I assume he will remove the old stain and or varnish (sanding or heat gun)? Is he going to apply stain with brush or HVLP gun (High Volume Low Pressure) ? If he is using a HVLP gun, that price sounds ok. Quality stains and varnish are expensive and some require mixing 2 or more chemicals.

Back to the original topic.............. some cowboy outfit called Emrots, or Emrats, or something like that (it's an airline) just quoted an outrageously high price for a return ticket to London...........

Amazing that people pay these prices . Someone must do or they wouldn't charge that much . A fool and his money................

Another little trick is using a kitchen sponge (with gloves) rather than a brush. You get a better finish and less runs.
