I love turkey. We sometimes get a frozen one, sometimes fresh--both OK so long as they're good quality. And then cold curried turkey for Boxing Day: take the remains of the turkey meat, cut or shred into bit size chunks and strips, mix generous amounts of Hellmans with a surprisingly large amount of curry powder and black pepper, then mix everything together. Best if you let it chill in the fridge. Great with bubbly (but then everything is)

My mother makes a nifty turkey soup with the leftovers from the turkey she always roasts in an attempt at maintaining a Thanksgiving tradition. She starts with a pound of streaky bacon and finishes off with half a pint or so of cream. That's generally the only time I'll eat..or rather, slurp...turkey.

Re: RIP Bootiful
I spent a christmas down in Luanda a few years back, went round to one of the customers house, he had turkey flown in. Was syringed full of gravy until it looked like Arnie, and then deep fat fried in a steel bucket of oil over a naked gas flame. was pretty damned tasty, even though it looked like it would turn out horrible and dry.
prefer a sirloin since we are here mind. If we did decide to do turkey, where would the best place to pick one up, and when do the orders normally go in?
