Default Rice for dinner, anyone?

.... er, no, actually........

This from Dow Jones Newswires:

Price Caps Threaten UAE Rice Supply Amid Surging Inflation

DUBAI (Zawya Dow Jones)--Price caps intended to cool rampant inflation
in the United Arab Emirates, the Middle East's second-largest Arab economy,
are forcing rice companies to divert shipments, according to suppliers.
"A lot of Pakistani suppliers have decided to stop exporting rice to
the U.A.E. because of the price caps," an executive from Dubai-based food
distributor Sinnara Traders LLC told Zawya Dow Jones Sunday.
The company has stopped importing and distributing 20,000 metric-tons
of premium rice, a staple in the U.A.E., because of price capping in food
stores, the executive, who declined to be named said.
