Revolution 2.0

Wael Ghonim lives in Dubai and works for google, a few weeks ago he lied to google about needing to go to egypt for family reasons, upon arrival he went to protest, promptly got arrested and was later released and interviewed on tv. during that interview it came out that he was one of the key leaders of the online campaign to overthrow the regime, when presented with the death toll his obvious distress and genuine tears inspired a nation and the growing protests exploded and less than 24 hrs later over a million people met in Tahrir Square and overthrew a dictater of 30 years.

people power writ large

I don't think he warrants celebrity status on Twitter though. Lot of discussion about this chap and most of it was negative.

oh i see, so its ok to be a certified celebrity if your a certifiable ****wit but someone who's helping to free 100 million people doesnt warrant celebrity status....

therin lies the very reason he NEEDS to be a celebrity while somebody quietly removes the others and puts a bullet in their head

I agree but I wouldn't believe everything he claims. That's all.

Put it this way, if he was in it for the people, why did he feel the need to get certified celeb status on Twitter? What he has done is amazing, no one can take that away from him but he has ruffled alot of feathers in the process.
