I use OmanAir regularly for this reason. They are fine with people buying tickets for other people (parents, in-laws, maids, other family, friends). Of course you would need to transit via Muscat, but that's not a big issue either.

That sounds like shit loads of hassle.

Virgin for example, you book online, say someone else is flying.....done.

Air Arabia definitely require the credit card holder to be among the passengers, so I went to their Deira office and paid in cash using the price quoted online, simples.:)
