Rent Scams!!
 

As anyone had any experience of a similar tale.

My Friend called me on Thursday evening. He had returned from home to find the locks on his door had been changed. After some enquiry he found out that the person he gave his ONE rent cheque to for 55k was the previous tenant and the rent agreement he had was fake.

This was back in Sept 2012, Now he hasn't paid any dewa in this time and after countless attempts to contact the alleged agent failed even going to Dewa direct and being told his name wasn't on the computer they couldn't give him any info. Seems someone has been paying the bill.

So Thursday he met with an Arab gentleman claiming to represent the S.A owner of the property. Told him the Previous tennant was to vacate the premises in Oct 2012. So my question is. Why has it taken so long to come to light.

Andy now has to pay 35k to this Arab Gentleman to keep the place on until Sept. In Addition to what he already paid.

Anyone any previous experience of this?
