Renault: the worst act of cheating in the history of sport?

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/spo...cle6837713.ece

t is the worst single piece of cheating in the history of sport. We must accept that Renault, in refusing to defend its Formula One motor racing team against the allegation that one of its drivers was told to crash, is admitting that the allegations are indeed true...

Anyone think of any worse examples...? Briatore is a nasty piece of work anyway apparently so no surprises from inside the F1 community that he has been involved in skullduggery but what is happening to the sport???!!

there is a history of such things in F1
Senna deliberately crashed into Prost and the Big-Chinned arrogant Hun did the same to Hill.

I guess I've forgotten that Serena didn't actually cheat - she was just being a bullying, gutter-mouthed sore loser.....

It's always been corrupt - that's why bookies stopped taking bets on individual races years ago.

Example: The driver who is in first place moving aside to let his team-mate through to win, without difficulty, because it suits the championship standings to finish that way round.

One simple way to stop it - reduce every team to one car only.

Trevor Chappel underarm bowling.

Worst incident of sporting cheating in the world.

........ which is why I don't regard Maradona as a cheat - the ref should have seen it (everyone else did apart from Barry Davies). Free-kick to England, yellow card for Maradona (if they were in use back then?), and on with the game.

This wasn't actually cheating, it was completely within the (then) rules.

A major contender for the most unsportsmanlike behaviour however.

Zinedine Zidane's bizarre head butt (though arguably what the Italian said about his sister/mother was the most unsportsmanlike bit..) must be in the list, there's even a game to play...
