Recent threads........... a new trend........?
 
Is it my imagination, or is there a far larger proportion of Saudi-related threads lately?

A year or so ago, 'what's it like in Riyadh?' threads were as rare as one-legged can-can dancers, but nowadays, the place is full of them.

Is there something behind this? Are more people looking at Saudi as a potential place to work, having heard that Dubai is going off the boil?

I agree!! tons more than usual, and yes it is probably because Dubai has lost it's 'sparkle' ;)

Actually I think it's because people see Saudi as being safe within the current economic climate. Don't know if that's true or not, I just hope we don't get inundated with a bunch of ex-Dubai lovvies . . . .

The simultaneous popularity of hats and beards has made it seem a lot more desirable

well, BE is one of the very few boards around where you can ask any questions about the magic kingdom with some vain hope of getting a response :D

and besides, maybe the magic kingdom isn't so scarey for people any more?
