Is this happening ME wide? We're having problems in KSA with sims not registered to Iqama numbers, etc. Mine is (not my Iqama), so I can top up, but I'm still being told I'll be expiring in a couple of months (I hope they mean the account).

I managed to do this about a month ago; although when I originally got my wife's SIM card back in 2006, it had be put under my name which is probably why they had no problem with me re-registering it now.

I had to go to the Al Wasl business center to sort out a post-paid account so as I was there I registered both phones.

Once I got to the front of the queue (ticketed) it was all quite simple as long as you had the Emirates ID copies and the original.

To get to the front of the queue however did take 2 hours...
