RAV4 '13 - Space

I have been offered use of a RAV4 '13 car. It seems a bit small in the back to me (it will need to seat one adult and two children aged 4 and 6). Does anybody have any views on it as a family car? Thanks.

Can the adult not sit in the front passenger seat, or will there be someone else in there?

There will be a driver supplied so one adult in the front passenger seat and one in the back.

I've had a RAV 4 and there is a reasonable amount of legroom, but it's not massive. Depends on the size of the passengers, i.e. are they very tall with the front seats pushed back and the adult in the back needing a lot of legroom too? I'm told they aren't particularly comfy in the back, but then I was invariably driving so never sat there.

One kid in a car seat, the other a booster. Not a chance.

I must admit I haven't seen any child car seats in Riyadh yet...

Do you mean you haven't seen any to buy in the shops, are haven't seen any being used in cars?

The latter I expect, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't use them.

Can anybody recommend a better option to comfortably fit one adult and two kids on booster seats in the back? Thanks.

A Toyota Prado should suffice. Cost a fair bit more I'd imagine.

Otherwise Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, even a Dodge Durango

I had a Rav4 when my daughter was a baby, could easily fit her in and another child. What is wrong with people? in the UK you would get four in a Yaris and not complain.

Thanks - my worry is the comfort of an adult plus two kids in the back.

it's a five seater car so what is the problem? I regularly had adults in the back of mine.

You need to go down the soft roader route.

Something like a Suzuki Grand Vitara of a Mitsy Outlander will be reasonably cheap and bigger than a Rav 4.

Once you start looking at proper 4x4 systems the cost increases significantly.

driver + 1 upfront.

booster seat, baby seat and an adult in the back can't be comfy on an ongoing basis (fine for a once a week trip I would imagine).

We have two babyseats in the back of the Pajero, and it is not f-ing comfortable in the back as an adult!
