Ranches to RAK

I have to go to the Hamara Fort on Thursday morning. I have to be there at around 8.30am.

How long will it take from the Arabian Ranches? Do I just whizz up the Emirates Road?

About an hr and yes straight up Emirates Road... Some-one may be able to provide more detuals of where to come off Emirates Road though. It's been a while since I went that way....

Stay on emirates road until it ends then turn left at the roundabout

Even easier go up the Dubai Bypass right to the end. (This avoids the mess which is Sharjah.) Go left at the R/A (still under construction) and then join Emirates Road. As said previously, go to the end of ER and go left at the R/A. Al Hamra will be on your right after about 5km or so.

Takes between an hour and an hour and a quarter depending on your top speed.

Note that there are no gas stations on the Bypass and, heading towards RAK from the end of the Bypass, only one on Emirates Road but it's still under construction.

Apologies as only just seen this but next time you can leave the E311 (Emirates Rd) at Jnc 119 and follow the road, bringing you out right next door to Al Hamra Mall and, of course, Al Hamra fort hotel.

Trip Done.

I wound the Pajero's elastic band up to 120kph and it took an hour each way. Stayed on the 311 all the way.
