Default Ramadan in UAE July10th - August 9th

or there abouts.
Book your leave now or stay and enjoy the quiet (well apart from on the roads at mental o'clock)

"The Sharjah Planetarium at the Department of Culture and Information announced that the Ramadan Crescent will form on July 8, 2013 at 11:14am and set at 19:08pm, five minutes before the sunset.

The crescent will be seen on July 9 in the evening. So the first day of Ramadan will be July 10, astronomically, corresponding to Ramadan 01, 1434 H.

It also announced that the Shawwal crescent will appear on July 7 at 00:51am and set with the sunset, making it difficult to be seen, and hence completes the last day of Ramadan (30 days). So Friday, August 9, will be astronomically the first day of Shawwal and the first day of Eid Al Fitr.

Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Astronomy Researcher and Supervisor of Sharjah Planetarium, said the first half of the Holy Month of Ramadan will witness a rise in temperature, which will reach 46 degree Celsius, accompanied by dry dusty winds."

Would you rather have ramadan during the summer when you're indoors anyway?

Or in the winter when you want to spend a lot of time outdoors?

Eurghhh. Don't remind me, 15 hour days for me. (the 8 hours off in the afternoon does not count). Without the Olympics this year to entertain me too.

Ramadan doesn't really bother me, we always stay, it was more of pain when it fell over Christmas about ten years ago. All the hotels are more or less business as usual. We spend a lot of time at the pool

I did last year and year before but this place doesn't do reduced hours apparently. That cuts off bucket loads of afternoon golf.

I love Ramadan! With 60% of our work force being local we really do only work the obligatory 6 hrs, and by the time we've factored in morning coffee, lunch & an afternoon coffe 2 of those hours are generally spent in the restaurant that work set up in a behind closed doors location. I'm a lucky lass and I appreciate it Roll on July 10th!
