radio stations

Which radio stations can you get online here without a VPN thingy - Radio1 Dubai has the most irritating DJs and I dont think I can bare another second listening to them- also their playlist is shit

Dubai Eye has a few bearable shows, balanced by some seriously offensive-to-the-ears garbage........

Well thank you, but I'd have thought it was pretty obvious. I have Radio 2 on all day every day. It's pretty much like Radio 1 was in the late 80s.

Showing my age eh?

Just add it's in a pop up so can be minimised so the boss can't see too.

Talking about radios, I am in the UK just now and was thinking about buying a digital radio to bring back to Dubai with me - my question and sorry if it's a daft one - will it work in Dubai ok or should I wait and buy one when i get back?

Everyone is moaning about digital (DAB?) back home - quality and reception inconsistent and patchy, etc.

Dubai doesn't have a digital service. Your DAB radio will become a clock- just like mine.

Get an ipad, docking station and TuneIn radio.

I thought it was brilliant (in London anyway). I used to love a bit of GayDar FM (until the presenters spoke of course)

Re: radio stations

You don't need a VPN to listen to any BBC Radio station live and many shows have a 'listen again' option.

Kittycat - you can even listen to BBC Radio Essex! http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbcessex

I used to use this in Dubai, an internet radio, tunes in via your wifi to thousands of stations around the world

its also a dab for when you head back to civilization

plenty of people I find interesting, but you probably don't even listen to Dubai Eye but it doesn't stop you trying to stir up a bit of trouble :)
