Default R&R in Bahrain

Greetings all,

Looks like I will be in Bahrain for a couple of days during the Ramadan holidays.

Anything good to do, pubs to visit etc.?

Cheers

Do you mean the Eid holidays? I've spent a fair bit of time in BAH over the last few weeks and can assure you that its absolutely dead during Ramadan. Bars do not seem to be serving as far as I can tell. Maybe they'll reopen at Eid, but I would check in advance with the hotels if thats what you're looking to do.

Have a good time

My Sister has been in Bahrain during this Ramadan and said that there was no grog anywhere at any time (she might have only looked in one hotel though...)

My apologies I will be there during Eid holidays 5-8 July...

Hopefully a pint two will be served then.

I was there last weekend. Bars are all shut as are a lot of restaurants. Make sure you stock up with Duty Free on the way in.

Not likely seeing as he's coming in from Jeddah? Might as well stay put.

A few years ago they changed the Les to stop serving booze in Ramadan. I expect Eid will see the bars packed with the brothers from KSA letting off steam.

The fisticuffs and red-checked headscarves will be flying in Juffair alright.

Thanks all, decided not to go.

Trying to get away from our Saudi brothers in Jeddah, somehow visiting another country just to meet up again doesn't make sense.

Cheers

Plenty of bars open during Ramadan and they will ALL be open during Eid.
