Don't be silly - everyone knows the evil joos own everything.

Of course we know reality is very different. Arab Oil Money has the West by the balls...from foreign policy to media. The Jewish lobby can't hold a dime on OPEC.

If Qatar wants to garner some good will they should cede themselves to Britain...or at least pay us tribute - a few billion a year should do it.

the irony being that as germany has tighter food regulations than the uk the food in lidl is often better than that in any uk based chain supermarket

On the matter of produce/fruit, do anyway of you have faith in supermarket's Organic claim and if it is noticeably better health wise?

From all the Gulf Sovereign Wealth Funds, QIA is by far the best performing one in terms of their returns for investments. The Abu Dhabi & the Kuwaiti SWFs lost several billions last year with their investments in UniCredit and Daimler, while QIA made billions from the sale of their stake in Barclay's

At the same time, it is normal since the UK is the 2nd largest FDI source into Qatar. Two of the largest gas fields in the country are developped by BP and Shell and the two countries have several defense pacts together.

Overall, as of 2012, Qatari investments in the UK account of $34 billion or 2.83% of the UK's total inward FDI stock of $1.2 trillion. Qatar's invesments in the UK are simply flashier than the usual that's all. The Shard, Harrod's, Canary Wharf Real Estate, 3% in Shell etc...

The Norwegian SWF is actually a much larger investor into the UK with a total stock of $85 billion, but they usually invest in less flashier assets or atleast try to keep it on the down low, not to attract too much publicity such as Rolls-Royce Plc, British Land, Prudential, Marks & Spencer & Regent Street.

Actually, it was not the case of being offended by knickers or flip-flops, as many naïve Muslims would be. It was for a far more noble cause.

Is it really that difficult to understand someone taking a stand in life based on some principles!!

No, which is why I asked how you practise those principles. Not that surprised you didn't answer though

Of course - you don't actually know that to be true but it is a nice statement to make.

Was discussing this with some work friends earlier

What do you reacon does better returns in Qatar? Carrefour,Spinneys or markies?

Small small markies shops in the nice compounds instead of the little corner shoppies some of them have are bound to be a huge hit

Especially if they start doing more food and not just the dried foods and frozen fish pies.
