Qatar won't like this report
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24282713
Qatar 2022 World Cup organisers say they are "appalled" by the findings of an investigation into the treatment of migrant workers in the country.
The newspaper says Nepalese workers in Qatar "face exploitation and abuses that amount to modern-day slavery".
"There is no excuse for any worker in Qatar, or anywhere else, to be treated in this manner," a statement read.
BBC Radio 5 live spoke to the chief executive of Qatar 2022, Hassan Al Thawadi, earlier in September before The Guardian's findings were published and asked him about this issue of working conditions.
He said: "Our priority when it comes to the workers is to ensure the safety, security, dignity and health of each worker is catered for and taken care of."
So WTF were the organisers doing when they were meant to be doing their due diligence before handing the ****ing thing to Qatar? Absolute tossers.

FIFA and Euro governments were resposnsible for Qatar getting the WC. Euro leaders/governments eyeing financial and geopolitical benefits pressured Football authorities to grant Qatar the WC. All despicable scum .

Zero construction workers "could" die too.
Metro, no wonder it's always left on the tube. Bog roll for the commute.

Amnesty says migrant workers are often subjected to non-payment of wages, dangerous working conditions and squalid accommodation.
The rights group said one manager had referred to workers as "animals".
Qatari officials have said conditions will be suitable for those involved in construction of World Cup facilities.
It has not yet commented on the latest report.

"It is simply inexcusable in one of the richest countries in the world, that so many migrant workers are being ruthlessly exploited, deprived of their pay and left struggling to survive," said Salil Shetty, Secretary General of Amnesty International.
"Construction companies and the Qatari authorities alike are failing migrant workers. Employers in Qatar have displayed an appalling disregard for the basic human rights of migrant workers. Many are taking advantage of a permissive environment and lax enforcement of labour protections to exploit construction workers."

Maybe all these do gooders should head off to India first to see worker exploitation and then come back and applaud the Qataris for improving the welfare of the guys even if its only for a few years of relative luxury whilst they build the stadiums
Having seen the carnage following a labour camp riot initiated by nothing more than sub continent xenophobia and having dealt with suicides caused by younger employees being repeatedly raped by their fellow workers, I also understand where one manager referred to them as animals
They are not all jolly little head shaking jinglies

Actually......Whilst I have absolutely no love for the Qataris, I agree with you.
On my current offshore construction project in UAE it's been heard said by older (Asian) workers that "women are for babies, boys are for sex".....and we had our first suicide 2 weeks ago.
On a previous job in Kuwait I had to travel to Nepal to recruit from the villages. Living conditions were basic, harsh and income was $50 /month. Took 150 of them back to Kuwait, treated them well (I had daily conflicts with Kuwaiti bosses on behalf of their welfare), put them in good aircon accommodation with 3 big meals a day, paid them $440/ month. Within 6 months they were rioting because "the rice is not Basmati standard". How quickly they forget........
