Default Push, Push...

...I'm going to continue to push you into having a C-section. Or so it goes with one of my colleagues. Perfectly healthy, early-20's subcontinental wife, but both doctors she's seen at an AD hospital are pushing her and her husband into having a C-section because "it will hurt less". One doctor Indian, the other Pakistani. 'king outrageous, just preying on their naivety.

Dick heads, I've had three (obviously not through choice) and the last one was horrific. It earns the doctors more money and makes keeping their social calendar easier.

if they are in insured it will be because they get more money for the procedure, disgrace. I had a c section and whilst the birth is pain free the recovery isn't. I have been told you recover quicker from a normal birth as long as there is no major complications

I can't talk from experience but my wife has had two c sections (also not through choice), and she was in a whole world of pain for several days/weeks after coming round, recovering from what is a fairly major operation, with the amount of layers they have to cut through.

I'm sure the natural way is painful too, but I suspect less longer-term (unless you rip or they have to cut - ouch).

I fully expect to be shot down here with my male opinion, but that was my take on it.

you are right, there was a girl on my Ward begging for a C section, they turned her down, she had a natural birth and 100 stitches, she was in a right mess, couldn't sit down for weeks.

If a C Section is anything like a Hysterectomy (even a keyhole one), I'll take 'normal' delivery anytime. Actually I would assume a C Section is far worse so why anyone would choose one is beyond me.

no it was here, she had a terrible time, blood loss, stitches she could hardly walk. I was walking better than her the next day after a C section!

From what I have heard, it's pretty much the same procedure except of course they remove the whole womb for a hysterectomy, not just its contents. Not too long ago you then used to convalesce for several weeks/months after a hysterectomy whereas with a c section now you're ejected from hospital after a few days with a baby to look after that you're not supposed to pick up and in fact you can hardly walk!

When we had ours in Jeddah, my wife had no choice. It was a C-section or go elsewhere. Didn't cost much extra in the end.

yes first, and yes I am guessing only child, and she was on her own pre delivery as men weren't allowed in the labour ward. My Mum sat with her.

Right - off now to shoot a stag or watch heterosexual (or even lesbian) porn to increase my faltering masculinity levels as a result of contributing far too much to a thread on forms of childbirth.

Or I might join Abu Dhabi Woman..
