... not apocalypse, necessarily, but as I've heard the comparisons between the boom here and what happened in Spain, particularly among British retirees, i thought this might be of interest:

Oddly, people seem to approach matters differently when buying overseas. Whereas in the UK they will use a proper solicitor, they often barely consider the legalities abroad.
