A print of a scan of a fax of a Visa...

I don't know about you, but if I was an immigration bod being presented with one of the above I might take a bit of convincing.

Anyway, that's what I've got, and that's what I'll be presenting on arrival in Doha on Thursday night :huh:

I had something similar when I came to the UAE, but the immigration officer didn’t bat an eyelid to my surprise..

Actually I was a little worried about it myself, and thought I could better enter as a visitor (visa free), but decided to just show the printout after I saw what a lot of workers who were standing in line with me got away with.

The application was sent off to ropeyvisas-4-u in plenty of time as well.

I suppose I was expecting something a bit more... well, official looking. I'm pretty certain you would be taken to task if you tried to enter the UK with documentation like that. Or have I just been watching too much of that stupit 'Airport' program?

Saying that, it must be at least as convincing as the report on my medical from last week which clearly states;

'He is fit'.

Good luck Kevin - you'll be fine! You can always purchase a tourist visa if all else fails.....

As long as they can read the numbers it should be OK. They will have a copy in the system.

I made it, no problems at immigration etc at all.

Those that I'm working for arranged a meet and greet kind of thing at Doha which is brilliant. As I was getting off the plane there are a couple of people shouting my name up and down the queue of people waiting to get through passport control etc, and once I'd put my hand up to being me they escort me through to a kind of lounge thing where I only sat for about 5mins before being escorted right past all the hundreds of people waiting in the queues (who by this point are all looking at me with looks that could kill), picked up my luggage and was out into the arrivals hall before anybody else lol. Brilliant.

Then out into what seems like a warm bath. ***** me it's warm here.

Thanks for support and comments folks. Once I get myself sorted out properly here I'll be back annoying everyone with posts again :)

Al Maha is the service you used, it's like Al Maharba in Dubai and is very good, even in the tiny little airport at Doha.

Where are you staying? Are you working here? I'm on the airport job, although off on the sick right now with whiplash.
