Well last nights result did them no favours in this regard. Well done to QPR though....

January looks interesting for Newcastle - after the FA Cup trip to Brighton (tricky) they have Norwich, Reading and Villa during the rest of this month. All winnable - but if they don't...........

Being only 2 points off the relegation battle, NUFC badly need at least six points from their next three league games.

Yet again we have been caught out by our failure to put the ball in the back of the net during the main portion of the game (or at all in this case). I did not see the game, but it seems that we dominated for most of the game but we just could not score.

I put two good strikers on my list to Santa Claus and I really hope that he comes through with the goods, otherwise we are going to struggle for Champions League and may have a battle for Thursday night football!!

The grapevine suggests that talks are pretty advanced with Demba Ba but with Sturridge on his way I think we need another one as well. Torres? its never going to happen on a regular basis :-(

Chelsea looked tired and rusty to be honest. Passes going awry, sloppy, just not on the pace either.

Shame, Torres banging in 4 goals would have helped my dream team.

How fickle you Chelski supporters are! Just the other day you were scoring goals for fun with 8-0 against Villa and 5-1 at Leeds being just two recent examples. One narrow defeat should not spell the end of their campaign for the league title, surely?

Chelsea did rest a few top class players though; Ashley Cole, Juan Mata, Eden Hazard and Ramirs all absent in the same game... Whilst I appreciate that managers don't feel it is realistic for players to play each week (bless their poor little legs) taking that much talent out of most squads will hurt... And it does seem that Chelsea paid a heavy price for it...

I watched it all (unfortunately): You had the ball most the time but didn't really dominate as it was all very pedestrian. QPR just sat back and you didn't generate any tempo to really unsettle them and just kept the ball in front of them. They pretty much played 4-6-0 with occasionally 4-5-1 when Tarabat went into the hole behind the non-existant striker. Torres had one chance, Ivanovic nearly scored from a Mata cross late on whilst they had one shot that went in (SWP's first goal in 960 something days). To be fair to QPR you should also have played 85 mins with 10 men as well - the straighest of straight reds that assault.

Not one of those games where you dominated and were unlucky not to score and you, like City, have had some of those this year. The commentators view was that if Mata, Ramires and Hazard had played from the start you would have been out of sight by halftime and then they could have come off for a rest!

You didn't deserve to lose but neither where you unlucky - a bore draw would have been a fair result.

Newcastle United are having big trouble selling tickets for their ‘end of season’ bash. It turns out people don’t like going to parties in February!

Police have launched an investigation after burglars broke into the Emirates Stadium and cleaned out Arsenal’s trophy room. Officers are looking for someone with a stolen carpet!

I met a fairy today who granted me one wish. I said I want to live forever, 'sorry' said the fairy 'I can't grant wishes like that' Fine I said 'I want to die when Liverpool win the premiership' - 'Crafty bastard' said the fairy

Q: Did you hear about the owl who took Ryan Giggs on a date? A: She always said she wanted a twit to woo.

Just to clarify: Jay Rodriguez didn't dive. He moved his leg out the way of a foul to not get injured, fell over in the process resulting in the same penalty that we would have had if he'd been hit by the challenge. Smart football that.

Man City fans get stung for 62 quid to watch their team play at Arsenal (cue song: "You're shit, and you charge too much!")............ at the final whistle, linesman jokingly (I assume) reminds City's players to go and thank those fans........... linesman then gets dropped from his next match.............

Fair enough.

Not his place to say and it's got nothing to do with him.
