Predictions for 2019

One, two, three, go!

What will the world be like on 31 December 2019 and where will you be?

We will be nearer to Armageddon. Or it may have already come about.

Brexit will be postponed or dropped completely.

Pretty much the same as it is now although The Donald will have been assassinated. Something proper KGB styleeee.

As for me, probably still where I am now and moaning about how I hate going out in Dubai (or anywhere if I'm honest) over NYE as its always a massive disappointment, and why can we not just go camping instead.

Re: Predictions for 2019

I think Brexit will just continue to be such an unmitigated cluster **** that the entire country will, collectively celebrate it happening because then it's ****ing over with and the country can just focus on falling apart and tumbling down all the league tables.

My work will remain busy but in Saudi and parts of Asia, right up until I quit.

The UAE will be a floater this year with bits and pieces for people to cling onto....but my inbox is already being peppered.

Saints will stay up.

Trump won't be assassinated but will continue to be a total thundercnut.

Idris Elba will be named James Bond, in a move not because he thoroughly deserves it for his acting skills and just how darn cool he is (which he does and is) but because of pressure to have a black James Bond.

For 2019:

US Treasury will freeze their rates (or maybe even be forced to make a small cut EOY)
China's great manipulation has spiralled out of control so dont even expect 6% growth.
Equity markets will enter a soft bull phase which maybe a full blown recession (I still predict that the DOW will dive below the 20,000 - first settle around 18,500 and then if it hits full recession down to 14,000)
GCC and EM markets will perform slightly better developed markets but not by much.

Overall its a flat year for growth.

I feel this gravy train has come to a station so time for me to get off and wait until the next gravy train comes - Q2 is when i am planning my exit strategy

Oh so negative...
I'm going to have lots more love and fun in my life.
The sun will continue to shine.
I'm going to look forward to my rent negotiation.
Interest rates will fall by the end of the year (after some rises) - bring my fixed income portfolio back to positive territory.
My son will have his braces removed and he will be a happier kid again.
My job will last another year.

There will be interest rates cuts and the market will rebound nicely.

I hope to buy a proper place by the end of the year and live in my own house once more, which will leave me much poorer but happier.

Interest rate cuts... no rebound.

Apart from wedding costs dominating the 2019 financial landscape for me, I'm tempted to go balls out and make the year a total cluster **** by looking to buy somewhere in the post-Brexit, post-apocalypse broken-Britain.

You will never be poor, you have the love of a good family, friends, health and Grindr.

Re: Predictions for 2019

Newcastle won't be sold, Rafa will leave, saints will survive, 'udders, that welsh lot and a.n.other will drop.
Silver will double in price (buy now, it's at an all time low against gold and is used loads).
apple will end up further behind the likes of Samsung in terms of technology but people will continue to buy style over substance.
tesla will be bought out, probably by another tech company
Riots on the streets of the UK - esp after bercow yesterday.
Money will rush into sustainable packaging and the UAE Gov will ban plastic straws (for example)
I'll spend a night in a police cell
Brexit will be blamed for everything, not the fact that certain car makers don't make the vehicles people actually want (ie not saloons, not diesels and not in China)
UK election, another hung parliament, more and more people rightly pissed off
I'll continue to be an irascible old bastard.

Of the above I can guarantee 2 will happen.

Weirdly, I have a return flight scheduled for March 29th.

Might take it now, just to be there for B-Day (if it happens).
