Predictions for 2017
Beginning of a New Year.
2016 was pretty interesting. I'm sure most of the predictions made on 1 January 2016 didn't come to fruition.
What's your prediction for 2017? What will happen? What won't happen? Who will die?
Will you still be in the UAE or your current ME posting by end of 2017?

Israel and the Palestinians will not find agreement, aside from disagreeing.

Re: Predictions for 2017
I'll lose some weight.
I'll go on holiday.
I'll save some money.
Saints will stay in the Premier League. Chelsea will win it, Liverpool will come second.
Trump will last the year and be found out as a bullshit artist who can't do 80% of the stuff he promised.
People will be even more bored of Brexit and both sides will continue to argue with varying degrees of success and accuracy.
Article 50 will get triggered, but it'll be hopelessly ineffective as we won't be ready, prepared or at all in agreement as to what to do.
A housing crash would be nice in the UK so I can buy, because at the moment prices are offensive.

Trump and Putin will start World War III against China and North Korea.
The US Mexico border will see construction start on new fence.
Aliens will show themselves to take Trump and Putin out.

Re: Predictions for 2017
Ok these are my predictions:
1. Article 50 will be invoked and by end of 2017 negotiations will be well underway and it'll be boring from that perspective. We will probably leave by end of 2018. It will turn out that the government was much better planned than many lefties want to believe.
2. Pound remains at this rate by end of 2017 although some swings throughout the year are to be expected. Look for another big drop following Article 50 but it will quickly recover to current levels. Stock market gains.
3. Corbyn is still Labour leader, Farron is still someone no one ever remembers, Sturgeon is still leader of the SNP but no second referendum and the SNP continue its slow march towards the natural but ineffectual governing party of Scotland. Tories will be polling in low to mid 40s, taking vote shares from UKIP post invoking Article 50. TM will continue to be pilloried as a control freak by the media/establishment but quietly popular among the voters.
4. Trump will make many missteps but will probably do some popular things. He will never get due credit for any good policies but he also won't be as bad or controversial as some fear.
5. Queen does not die.
6. There will be no GE this year.
The wild cards are:
1. EU elections this year in France and Germany.
2. Status of Italy banking system.
3. Supreme Court / HoL versus Brexit.
4. Terror attacks.
