The "acid test" for finding out if your boyfriend or hustband is watching too much is to check if his palms, smooth = he needs help .
For most people viewing adult material is fine IMO. It's weird how differently girls react though, I've had this conversation with girlfriends and got everything from the dreaded "silent treatment" to "hey, let me watch as well" (which turned out to be a real giggle). But we seek different things in relationships and the sexual identities forced upon us by the society we live and culture we live in does tend to impact women more in this than men (Who tend to be conditioned towards emotional repression more).
On this topic I loved a piece I read by Betty Friedan in 'The Feminine Mystique' on the loss of gender identity that went "Men weren't really the enemy - they were fellow victims suffering from an outmoded masculine mystique that made them feel unnecessarily inadequate when there were no bears to kill."
