Plane crash in Tripoli this morning

Shit. 105 people dead. An Afriqiyah A330 from Jo'Burg crashed a mile short of the runway.

I'm supposed to be flying with them in a couple of weeks!

Apparently an 8-year-old Dutch boy survived...the only one.

Local attitude..."It's a miracle!"

Er...not for the other 100 or so people.

The plane seems to have hit the ground very much harder than you would think if it was on a controlled approach to Tripoli airport?

Could it be another Egypt Air where the guy flew into the ocean?

What a strange question.

European lives are more valuable than African lives, of course.

no one had told me.

I guess if we use GDP per capital as the measure of value add and therefore value of life then the people of the GCC are of most value in the world.

now there is a scary thought.
