Default Pictures of the Dead in the News

I see that they are circulating pictures of the murdered American Ambassador, Most probably 99% Dead.

I seem to remember a time when things like this were never shown, how and why has it become acceptable?

I know he died do I dont need to see a picture.?

I am glad it was shown, just as I am glad the horrors of Vietnam were shown.

Architects of war always want to hide the horrors of war from the general public lest the public question the war. The Gulf War was heavily censored because the US government did not want a repeat of Vietnam era public displeasure.

That dude carrying him will get mouth cancer if he is not careful. Carrying his mobile in his mouth is darned careless.

Seriously, i dont see a need for publishing such pictures. Im sure this guy's family and friends really dont need to see this.

So it might not have been about the film, it was possibly a terrorist attack on a known soft target on a significant day.

I see it was Libyan civilians trying to save the poor guy as well.

It would seem Al Qaeda used that movie as a smokescreen?

Unfortunately with mobile phones and various internet sites we're going to get a lot more of it now.

It's going off in Yemen now - there's a surprise!

The people who made the original film, whoever they may be, aren't the real culprits here, it's the people who dubbed it in (totally incorrectly and inflammatory) Arabic and then spread it who are to blame.

Why let truth get in the way of a good story anyway?

Even the people who dubbed it aren't to blame. The blame lies squarely with the Islamist thugs.

I think in this instance the fact the picture shows that local Libyans are trying to help him, albeit in vain, is a hugely important story particularly in the USA where I'm sure the perception, lead by media reports, would be that everyone was baying for blood.

It's also being reported on the BBC now that the US Embassy in Yemen has been stormed by protesters.

Is this all the start of something bigger, or just an over reaction to the film stoked by Islamic hardliners?
