Though sometimes Paxman gets his come-uppance. For example, when he was told by Alex Salmond not to be daft.

Re: Paxman at his best
paxman, gotta love him...it's the technique my 3 year old uses, if he asks a question, you HAVE to answer, or he just asks again, and again, and again until you do...

Re: Paxman at his best
Don't understand the fuss about him........
The whole point of an interviewer is to get answers to questions - if you don't get those answers, you rephrase, or approach from a different angle, or try another topic, etc......
The "Did you threaten to overrule him?" sequence with Michael Howard was embarrassing - for Paxman. He carried on and on when it was clear there was not going to be an answer to his question.... Howard's wriggling on the hook had already confirmed his own position.
I cannot remember ever seeing a Paxman interview that enlightened or informed the viewer. The man is a legend nowhere apart from in his own bedroom mirror.
End of rant. :curse:
(Next week's rant: why "Last of the Summer Wine" is unfunny tosh that insults Northerners......)
