Oscar nominations announced
TEN  nominations for Best Picture?? What's that all about?
Avatar and The Hurt Locker to battle it out................. http://www.moviefone.com/ |
Re: Oscar nominations announced
Yeah, they announced it last year, before 5, now 10
Didn't think Avatar was THAT good anyway, yes it is entertaining to watch but the storyline isn't amazing, certainly not worthy of winning best picture IMHO. |

I'd love to see Jeremy Renner get the Best Actor award ahead of all those far bigger names.............
Best Picture “Avatar”, James Cameron and Jon Landau, Producers Actor in a Leading Role Jeff Bridges in “Crazy Heart” Actor in a Supporting Role Christoph Waltz in “Inglourious Basterds” Actress in a Leading Role Meryl Streep in “Julie & Julia” Actress in a Supporting Role Mo’Nique in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire” Animated Feature Film “Up”, Pete Docter Art Direction “Avatar”, Art Direction: Rick Carter and Robert Stromberg; Set Decoration: Kim Sinclair Cinematography “Avatar”, Mauro Fiore Costume Design “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus”, Monique Prudhomme Directing “The Hurt Locker”, Kathryn Bigelow Documentary (Feature) “The Cove”, Nominees to be determined Documentary (Short Subject) Are you kidding I have no idea... Film Editing “Avatar”, Stephen Rivkin, John Refoua and James Cameron Foreign Language Film “Un Prophete”, France or “The White Ribbon”, Germany - the only one so far I am split on, Cannes Winner White Ribbon or classic prison drama? I think Un Prophete will take it... Visual Effects “Avatar”, Joe Letteri, Stephen Rosenbaum, Richard Baneham and Andrew R. Jones Writing (Adapted Screenplay) “In the Loop”, Screenplay by Jesse Armstrong, Simon Blackwell, Armando Iannucci, Tony Roche “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire”, Screenplay by Geoffrey Fletcher can't decide.... argh... Writing (Original Screenplay) “Inglourious Basterds”, Written by Quentin Tarantino I'm happy for this to be analyzed after the event - and I will change it, but this is my prediction for now... |

Streep again?? God preserve us............ no, please God, no.......
Americans seem to go crazy over her performance as Julia Childs - I didn't know her so well, if it had been Delia.... well, but it seemed pitch perfect. I think she'll take it. |
