Only Showtime In Town?
 

I am relatively new here and just about to move into a rented place in AD.

I have searched about here but cant find any info on the latest/best tv options available.

When I asked about e-life at the Etislat desk in Al Raha Mall the guy said "not available anymore, technical problems".

Does this mean I have to get tv through the OSN packages or do other options exist?

Did he mean E life was not available or E-vision? Think he meant E life.

Yes, E-life sorry. Found out today Evision is a different thing.

Looks like I am going to be 'smuggling' the OSN man into ARG :fingerscrossed:

have they relaxed the "smuggling" a big give away with a big round circle on your roof. i know when they were first built they made everyone (expat) take them down.

I dont think the policy has changed officially but it seems to be a bit like fighting the drugs war or protecting the US / Mexican border or painting the Forth Bridge or...............

Go for Showtime and the dish.
We're in ARG and signed up for e-vision then e-life. Big mistake.
From what I understand from a visiting technician, Etisalat have royally screwed up by supplying an awful receiver box with crap software so you cant record anything, cant stop live TV, cant see the schedules, cant save favourites and it loses the signal for a few seconds about every 15 minutes. They sold us e-life promising everything.....but then discovered they didn't have any boxes capable of providing it.....hence, I guess the reason they've now suspended it.

I believe that e-vision is a seperate company and have a pretty good reputation, and are extremely pissed off at Etisalat for going cheap and upsetting around 15,000 AD subscribers!

Well, seems like dish smuggling is the way to go.
