I was wrong on (and still don't fully grasp the idea of) the one where the " ' " goes after a word.

It's one of these rules:

Do it when X is X and Y is Y.
Unless XX happens then don't, but do do it if YY happens.
However, XY needs two, YX needs none and XXYXXYYXYYYYYX needs one after the s.

Apparently only 3-7% of people got that wrong on the test. I really doubt that that is representative of the general UK or US population.
