I've been twice and really struggled to find anywhere interesting. First time did find a really lively place--if you like girls dancing on the bar. Can't find the details, but it was something like Club 7. Good luck and watch out for the scammers.

I had a month there. Everything almost impossible without someone that speaks/reads chinese with you so you have to stay in the tourist traps. Near the Oriental Pearl there is a western mall with hooters etc in it. Not bad for a few beers and you know what you are eating.

The Brick is a good pub/restaurant. In the French concession

Been to Hooters too but it is south of the river, or at least the one we went to!

How does it work with Hooters in China? They normally have smaller racks than usual. I mean rack of lamb and such.

The average size is smaller but there are plenty of well endowed...umm...racks as it were. 1.4 billion people and over 50 ethnic groups gives them a lot more diversity than us folk on the other side of the world would imagine.
