A fairy tale is full of magic, wonder and fairies.

The stories are full of puss, muck and poofs!

What subject is it being discussed in at school, that should give you some inclination as to what they are hoping for.

Oh, and is the teacher bent, cause that would definitely tell you.

Oh, OK.

I believe the answer may be that fairy tales have a moral to the story, while stories are just, ehrm, well....stories.

Could be wrong though cause we didn't cover that in number plate making at my school.

Course, you could just let them take Lillie to school and everyone will forget all about it!

Well according to my kid only stories that end in "happily ever after" are fairy tales, not otherwise......lol

I would say that stories are entirely possible in reality....whereas fairytales are not.

If it can't be reproduced as a Hollywood movie, then it's a fairy tale...

So was that Brother

Fairytales classically depict good truimphing over evil perhaps conditioning children with all the fluffy magic that the goodie is the hero and his way is the right way to go in life.
Stories p'haps are more of a reality check when kids are beginning to learn/observe that real life ain't a fairytale........pink for the faeries..
