I note that you used "e.g." for the list of men's jobs, but not for the list of women's jobs. What are you trying to say?

My mistake. Of course, the woman's list wasn't all inclusive either: they can also do cleaning.

Yes, part of the WADA grand plan. Blood and urine samples are stored for eight years.

didn't they kick someone out recently, as the blood profile changed too much since the last test?

I think this is to capture the draining, storing and later transfusion of your own blood back into your body in order to boost the red blood cell count nearer the games.

Someone at WADA had the bright idea a few years back.......... 'keep these samples - one day, we might be able to detect things we cannot detect now'.

Yeah......... reassuring then that the latest technology and back-testing techniques are so good - note the guy (can't remember name or sport - I'll check) who has now been banned because they have been able to RETEST a sample he gave at Athens in 2004.

But there's a couple of golds at Athens that I think I'd rather leave untested - think of the potential heartache..... Some things best to leave alone sometimes. I think the 8 year retention policy is a big reason that records haven't been falling this time.

I know you're trying to make a joke out of this, but I think you're brushing issues under the (well-hoovered) carpet. You can't just scrub off the considerable advances made by womenfolk, hoping to iron out the creases in your ill-considered views, cooking up some notion that women have a lower position in society, prostituting themselves to the demands of men. Your statements are without polish, and I would suggest some respect, honour and obedience for their pledges. After all, who makes your sandwiches?

After I said 'I do', I do.

I think that this is an important piece of Olympic analysis:

... and also some very poor analysis on similar lines for the ladies:

Thank you waiter............. I'll have Ennis for starters, followed by Ennis for main course, and then for dessert I'll have Ennis with whipped cream and a brandy snap..........

Dail Mail says that Saudi runner received a standing ovation despite finishing a lap behind everyone else.
Well if she didn't have to wear all that body covering fabric , she might have done better.

The Mail also says she was born and raised in the US, has dual citizenship and trains at Pepperdine Uni. Ok so then she isn't really a 'Saudi Olympian', but the authorities just overlooked it so as not to piss off the Saudis. Just shows that the Olympics committee was just paying lip service in taking a stand against Saudi's gender discrimination.

Seeing as how she was born and raised in the US and trains at Pepperdine, I strongly suspect she doesn't wear such restrictive garb when running at home/pepperdine.

... I watched an interview with them on BBC after their medal achievements and like so many of the interviews with Gold medal winners, they both came across as really decent, humble, down to earth and likeable people. It makes me proud to be British.

Hopefully after the Olympics has finished, the media will try to focus on the more positive side of Britain and the people from GB rather than peddling the negative doom and gloom which they usually do to sell papers.
