Re: Oil Barons Ball.....
Black tie events don't have to be boring:
Midnight blue, very popular in the 1920's and doesn't have the green undertones that black has...not many people know that .
I don't know if anyone else noticed but in Casino Royal "Le Chiffre" wore black on black which is very unusual...but sort of cool at the same time .
It's not that the "penguin" suit is over done but that most men confine themselves in what they will wear to a very traditional cut suit rather than a variation .

I see, a "This lady is not for turning" type?
Obviously I can understand your desire to share an opinion with me so just this once I'll let you, but don't tell anyone or it mights soften my reputation. Being a bloke of course I HAVE TO be right by default and will argue my case for hours like all blokes if you dare disagree with me .

Have just learned from a couple of sources, Scots of course, since being Scottish is like knowing the age of your grannie....(Lets see who gets that one!!!) that there will be a plethora of ghillie shirts on show tomorrow evening..
Most kilters I have emailed have told me they plan going in the ghillie, as opposed to the black tie. But, then again, we are all oilfield trash, so who would expect any better!!!
