Odd real estate advertisement in the Financial Times....
While nursing my hangover at Mcdonalds I glanced through the weekend issue of the FT and noticed in the realty section an advert for flats in a typical London SW3 terrace. Nothing special there, but what caught my eye was the fine white print across the advert, which went something similar to:
'For sale to non-UK residents only' Uhh..... Is this legitimate? Is it genuinely possible for a developer to offer a property for sale in the UK to non-UK residents only? In other words, is it legally possible for a perfectly normal UK citizen resident in the UK to be barred from buying one of the flats, which is very much in the UK? |
Re: Odd real estate advertisement in the Financial Times....
Probably a short-term investment that needs to be sold quickly- non-residents can avoid the tax implications.
