If this is the same person that Sky News was going on about, she said quite a bit more than that. I think it's a litte daft to be honest, she's ****ed for an honour now.

At the same time, there is a little bit of truth in some of the comments aswell.

I doubt Kate will be too upset about being criticised by a woman who appears to be 18 months pregnant and strikes an uncanny resemblance to Grotbags.

why does it matter what the novelist looks like though? Can only 'good looking' people say something about the way other people look?
Oh but you are ugly so shut up...or you must be jealous cause you don't look like her...what a load of bullshit.

I mostely agree with what she said about Kate, bland, plastic, boring one trick pony, no 'personality' type girl.

I wouldn't insult Grotbags with such a comparison.

This is taken out of context. The comments are from a long piece in the London Review of Books which looks at historical context of royal wives and Mantel is not nasty as the later articles make it appear. Always best to have the full story, eh? Shame the 'reporters' didn't bother reading it properly all for the sake of a farical story intended to cause upset.

Hilary Mantel is a Booker Prize winning author. That's a considerable achievement.

:amen: on 1st paragraph.

As for the criticism, bet there's quite a few people who secretly agree with the gist of what she said if not the details.

Kate does appear somewhat manufactured . Those shots of her in riding gear looks like a photo shoot for Ralph Lauren or some upper crust appealing mag. The dresses are like something out of a "Appropriate Royal dress mold".

That said, am agnostic on her character/personality. :D

Never heard of her, and her books sound shite.

She also made the first comments about appearance. Live by the sword and so on....

Nobody 'knows' Kate apart from close friends and family, so let them be the only folk who can judge?

Meow's right though, context is important. In the right context, I'd like Kate to (careful here)
Spoiler:
sit on my face

NOTE: If you opened the spoiler with additional pre-warning and are still upset - it is entirely your problem.

You think maybe your comment reflects more on you than on (Booker prize winning) Hilary Mantel?
