I woudnt class Mad Max, Gallipoli, The Year Of Living Dangerously, The Bounty, Lethal Weapon, Hamlet, the Passion Of The Christ or Apocalypto anti-English..... Have I missed any movies out????

Well...the writer of Braveheart, Randall Wallace visited Edinburgh Castle and asked about the two recessed statues either side of the main gate of the castle...Robert The Bruce and William Wallace. He was very interested in his namesake and read up on Wallace. Mel Gibson later got involved and eventually made the film. Gibson couldn't understand why a such film had never been made before. Simple, the British Film industry is located in London, and the English would never make a film that puts them in bad light...so it took an American-cum-Australian to do it.

Scotland doesn't have the cash to make its own period and historical films...but one day...

there are a lot of possible histroical films which havnt been made.
I don't believe there has been a big budget movie about the Scottish invasion of England which ended in the Battle of Flodden Field.

The Loch Ness Horror (1981)
Loch Ness (1996) with Ted Dansen...quite liked that one !
