What kind of *********** deems this acceptable?

It's beyond me. I hope she makes a recovery as best as possible.

Some creature who lack the ability to behave like a decent human, it is assurdely a biological reason, much like how the brains of sociopaths does biologically differ from normal people. That plus, the Emirati sees that the woman is an African so thinks he has carte blanche to do what he wants.

I doubt this will be start of a new precedent (because they don't have that concept in UAE law) of locals being punished appropriately for their crimes against expatriates....and especially against expatriate women.

I've been here over ten years and a long record of rapes and beatings where the perpetrators get little more than a slap on the wrist comes to mind.

"beating which led to death" - This sounds more like aggravated assault. Surely murder or at the very least manslaughter is the more appropriate charge.
