Not exactly - he got conned into admitting he'd dabbled in a few substances (around the time he lost his sister in the Marchioness disaster on the Thames) and said that rugby had saved him from a life of drugs, etc.

The loaded crossword reminds me of a clue that a journalist who was fired slipped into a crossword many years ago. The clue was "Wrinkled old retainer."

I've also seen first hand some serious substance abuse by top level players, Matt Stevens was just one of the unlucky ones.
