Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
HI, newbie here. I've joined up as there is a possibilty of me relocating to Jeddah because of OHs work. To be honest, I'm petrified! As a smoking drinking independant female with no particular will to shop, I have a feeling this could be the most miserable move of my life. On the other hand, the financial gain, opportunity and circumstance to have a child (as I wont be working and he will be earning lots) makes me think it might be worth it for a few years. Is there anyone out there with similar experience? TIA

Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
After three years of first looking into moving out to the UAE (Spugsy in particular was a great help at the time), I'm finally moving out to Abu Dhabi next week, and am hoping to stay indefinitely.
I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your informative posts and witty banter, it's been truly helpful. Yes, I'm guilty of lurking but also hope to give some input, once I'm out there. Thanks again everybody.

Well, I am half Turkish half Brit currently living in the UK but moving to Bahrain soon. Just discovered this forum and I sure am going to visit this forum for many, many times in the future. I work in international digital / interactive marketing and soon to start working for a financial company in Bahrain. In fact, I am moving there on Wednesday and pretty excited about it.
I guess that's not bad for an initial introduction.

Re: Newbies....Introduce yourselves to the ME crowd
Hi All,
I'm going to be heading out to AD around mid-August with the wife and kids.
Have been lurking here for a while enjoying the colourful mix of information and abuse ;-) but it was finally all confirmed today, so I thought I'd better come out.
Hopefully I'll be able to contribute (to both aspects!) when I free up my time by swapping the drudgery of a daily Poole to London commute for a 20 minute nip across town (the traffic seemed fine when we were there a few weeks ago?)
essele.
